New Philip Jackson Sculpture
Sculptor Philip Jackson’s new monumental artwork, The Clockmaker of San Marco - which stands at nearly two and a half metres - is now on display for the first time outside Catto Gallery.
Venice is a theme that has occupied Jackson since his first visit there nearly forty years ago. The clock tower that dominates St Mark’s square in Venice is one of the most popular tourist attractions as well as being one of the most famous clocks in the world.
Jackson is well-known for his public sculptures such as Queen Elizabeth on the Mall, Bomber Command Memorial in London’s Green Park, and the statue of Bobby Moore that welcomes football fans to Wembley Stadium. His artworks are sought by collectors all over the world.
